PHOTOGRAPHY OXFORD

Here is my photography Oxford portfolio.  I regularly work in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Essex, Exeter, Kent, Leicester, London, Oxford, Peterborough, Salisbury Southampton, Sussex, and the South Coast.

I have clients all over the country, and I am happy to travel. I live 10-15 minutes from the M25, around 5 minutes from the M3, and 25 minutes from the M4 near Reading East, so it is pretty easy for me to get just about anywhere in the UK.

I do sometimes go further North, but generally, it would mean working for a whole day shoot or more, rather than just a few hours.  It is always worth contacting me, for a quote; all prices are fully inclusive of mileage charges. However, the only extras will be parking and any congestion charges

Charney Manor is a private estate near Oxford, in the Oxfordshire countryside. It has several rooms, that are used for residential retreats; some much larger rooms can be used for meetings conferences, and events.

I was asked to photograph some of the bedrooms and the conference rooms, one of which, for example, was also used as a Yoga room.

It also has a couple of cottages attached, that are rented out as holiday lets.
Photographically, it didn’t really pose any major challenges, the weather was good and it had some nice outdoor spaces as well.

KFC Bicester Road Oxford OX25 3QQ – Photography Oxford

I have done a few jobs for KFC over the years. This shoot was on a busy dual carriageway, a few miles outside Oxford run by Eurogarages.

This was in December 2020, so all the staff were still wearing masks.

It was a completely new restaurant, and as usual when I arrived there were workmen still there adding the final touches.

Luckily I was early, as you just can’t trust the traffic conditions these days so I always leave plenty of time.

The event itself was a pretty standard opening with the mayor arriving to cut the ribbon, and of course, these events are important, as it was going to provide over fifty jobs for young people in the area.

When the workmen finally finished, I took some shots of the restaurant interior from various angles, with windows all around the restaurant this was straightforward.

We did some shots of the opening ceremony and the staff outside the restaurant and some action shots of the staff working inside the restaurant.

Harris Manchester College – Photography Oxford

I was commissioned to photograph this new building. It was built in stone in the same style as some of the much older college buildings that surrounded it. It looked extremely impressive.

The building consisted of a large lecture room on the ground floor, a common room in the basement and the upper floors were student accommodation.

None of the rooms presented any particular photographic problems, and I was able to get away with a mix of daylight from the windows, and artificial light from lamps in the room, with a little bit of bounced flash where necessary.

Stalis Leonardo Hotel Oxford – Photography Oxford

This was a job for a company in the healthcare sector. They were holding their annual meeting at the Leonardo Hotel in Oxford.

They wanted some headshots plus group shots of the whole team around the Christmas tree as it was mid December.

The bizarre thing was, that when I received the phone call, I was sitting in the reception of another Leonardo hotel in Exeter waiting for the manager to brief me on a shoot that day there.

The shoot was straightforward, I did the headshots in the corner of the conference room. There was an open area at the entrance to the conference facilities where we shot all of the group shots

Vue Cinema Oxford

I had a job at the Vue Cinema Oxford.  They had been closed all through Covid, and after the restrictions had been lifted, they were preparing to re-open with a PR campaign.

It was a straightforward job, to do some shots of the exterior and interior of the cinema. They had a lot of self-service machines, which were all equipped with hand sanitisers.

We spent a long time shooting all of the Covid precautions that they had put in place and some more traditional shots of the foyer and other facilities.

Great Photography Oxford Locations and surrounding areas

From a photographers perspective Oxford offers  a large amount of photographic opportunities, mostly because the colleges have a huge amount of history, and the only way you are really going to appreciate it is to go there for yourself and witness it, but here are a few examples, Magdelene Bridge, North Parade, Bridge of Sighs, Holywell St, Tur Street and Bath Place.
