PHOTOGRAPHY PETERBOROUGH

Here is my photography Peterborough portfolio.  I regularly work in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Essex, Exeter, Kent, Leicester, London, Oxford, Salisbury, Southampton, Sussex, and the South Coast.

I have clients all over the country, and I am happy to travel. I live 10-15 minutes from the M25, around 5 minutes from the M3, and 25 minutes from the M4 near Reading East, so it is pretty easy for me to get just about anywhere in the UK.

I do sometimes go further North, but generally, it would mean working for a whole day shoot or more, rather than just a few hours.  It is always worth contacting me, for a quote; all prices are fully inclusive of mileage charges. However, the only extras will be parking and any congestion charges.

This was a new client for me in 2022 and I have done several jobs for them since. I was asked to photograph a new location for the Italian restaurant chain Zizi, which was opening in Peterborough in a few days.

It was located in Fosse Park, a large retail park on the outskirts, which is great for me because I know I can park nearby.

I took my standard gear into the restaurant, consisting of a couple of very powerful battery-powered flash heads with softboxes, which are usually perfect for these jobs.

I would normally just bounce lights off the ceiling, but the ceilings were a dark navy blue. I did have more powerful mains flash in the car but it was busy and I was worried about leads.

Kids Fest – Photography Peterborough

I was asked to be the official photographer at Kids Fest. I shot some stills and a video for them at the Peterborough Showground.

When I arrived, there was plenty of parking, which is always great. It was one of those events, where I was only always going to need a camera, as you can’t use any lighting equipment due to health and safety issues. I also brought along a sturdy tripod for the video footage.

It was so busy and there was so much going on, that you just had to randomly photograph whatever you could.

I found the video more difficult, as it was just too crowded to use a Steadicam, I shot the video in increments, which I later cut together. I usually find this method works really well.

Due to not being able to use lighting equipment, I found the lights in the arena were sufficiently bright enough.

PE26 1NB – Photography Peterborough

Last year, I did a lot of work for DWH and Barrett Homes, based in Peterborough, Northampton, and Bedford.

Although they were new builds, they needed a huge amount of retouching and editing. It was a hot summer in 2022, which meant all the grass was brown.

I also found that the roads on a new housing estate were damaged due to heavy construction traffic, therefore, the tarmac needed replacing, using retouching and editing

Romans Edge PE29 2LQ – Photography Peterborough

This job was for another new build development. Although the houses are new, I find these are quite challenging to photograph, as the houses are new the surroundings usually need a lot of retouching,

I am usually supplied with a plan of the estate, with plot numbers rather than house numbers, and of course, I find that any postcodes are not updated on the sat nav.

With luck, if you arrive at the right time you can find the post person, who I have found invaluable at directing me to the correct location. You can go to the show house office, but they are not always open every day.

The other thing to remember is that as some of the houses are occupied, and of course they have cars parked in the drives. It is really important that all of the number plates are retouched out on the cars.

Great Photographic Locations in Peterborough and surrounding area

There are several interesting locations in the Peterborough area, Peterbrough Cathedral is one of the finest examples of Norman Architectures in Europe, and Catherine of Aragon, the first of Henry V111 six wives is buried here.

Ferry Meadows is a beautiful country park, ideal for all kinds of photography, from family to fashion, there is also a huge range of watersport activities in Nene Park within Ferry Meadows.

Peterborough Guild Hall also provides a great Photographic Backdrop in the Cathedral Square.

There is also a huge showground just outside Peterborough offering lots of events.

Moving slightly further afield from Peterborough , there is Cambridge with its beautiful historic University buildings, and west you move to Leicester and Loughborough.

Loughborough is the home to the historic Great Central Railway Line Which runs between Loughborough and Leicester North, it is a historic railway and has a double track, which means that it is the only place in the world where you can see two steam trains pass each other.
